Christmas Happenings...

We're finally getting settled back into our normal routine after lots of family Christmas get togethers. It was a great Christmas, and we feel truly blessed to have such wonderful families!! The festivities began on Christmas Eve at my grandmother's house, but I forgot to take the camera inside, so the pics start later that evening. I was making the green beans to take to my mom's house on Christmas day, and I had to fry an entire package of bacon, but I HATE for my house to smell like bacon for days. I heard someone talking about having their husband fry bacon ouside...GENIUS!!! Because I have such a fabulous husband, he agreed to help me out. It worked perfectly...I had my bacon complete with drippings, AND the house didn't smell like bacon!!
Here the festivities continue at our house on Christmas morning. Here is Caden looking at what Santa brought. He still doesn't really understand what is going on, but he will.

Fun ball.

Notice the "Ooo" shape of his mouth. He made this sound all day anytime he was given a was really cute!

Playing with the giggle and go garage...

Then we continued on to my parents' house for Christmas with my family and lunch with a LOT of family. He LOVED that lawn mower.

Caden and Daddy in the teepee...

After lunch we continued our festivities by heading up to Columbus to visit with Frank's family. Frank's dad gave his mom this little bug that crawls around on its own...Caden was absolutely fascinated!!!!

The Three we see a BIT of a resemblance????
(Frank Jr, Caden, Frank Sr)

Poor Daddy...he was worn out from all the festivities!! He wasn't ready to get up the next morning...but he did in the end!
And one final pic...this one was from tonight. We went to dinner tonight and Caden decided to feed daddy some of his ice cream. Notice he's showing Daddy how to open his mouth properly (I do the same thing when I feed Caden!).
Grayson also got a check-up today. Everything is looking good with him, and now I'm going to the doctor every 2 weeks...CRAZY!!! It seems weird that we're already to 2 week exciting! I can't wait to meet this new little one!

Who's stealing my job???

This morning when we got to school, we were running a little behind, so Caden had to come to my classroom with me because I had early morning duty. He had lots of fun sitting at my desk and playing with my timer. He would push the buttons and then talk into it like it was a phone. The kids LOVED having him in the room for a little while!!
He looks so official!!

Something a little Christmasy...

Caden has been so much fun for the last week or so. He is finally feeling well, and I think that he just doesn't know what to do with himself. He saying so many words (mommy, daddy, chicken, roll, cow-moo, duckie, keys, ball, baby, shoes, waffle, ...)'s so fun to watch him grow up!!!
We had Caden's Christmas pictures made last week. One of the moms in my room did them for us. She is just getting started, and I think she did a FABULOUS job!!!! These are just a few of them.

This one shows his outlook on life:

Ultrasounds, Indians, and Ear Infections...

Hello Bloggers!!! As always, things are never dull around our house!! Last Friday I had another ultrasound, and everything looked great. Grayson was a little wiggle worm...he was also fairly cooperative with the "camera." This week has been NUTS at school because we had our 5th grade play, and progress reports went out. We've been busy little beavers!! Caden had his Thanksgiving Party on Thursday morning, and then at 9:30 or so the school secretary came upstairs to tell me that Caden was running 102 fever...FABULOUS!!! So, Mom was able to come and get him. He had gotten his flu shot the day before, so I didn't know if it might be connected to that. The doc said to bring him in if he was still running fever in 24 hours. Well, of course he was still running fever Friday morning, so my parents took him to the doc for me. He has his first ear infection!! WOO-HOO!! It's another thing to add to sweet Caden's list. Right now he's sleeping peacefully...maybe tonight he's feeling well enough to sleep the night through. He's such a trooper!!!! I LOVE THAT KIDDO!!! Ok...time for pics...

You can tell he's starting to not feel too well...
Caden's teacher is the BEST!!!
"Go away and let me eat my muffin!"
Poor baby...look at those sad eyes!!! I'm going to have to put the Indian outfit back on him when he's feeling was TOO CUTE!!

Things you NEVER want to hear the doctor say...

Well...Monday Caden woke up wheezy, so I made an appointment for him. By the time we got to see the doctor, things had gone from bad to worse. The doctor came in the room, listened to Caden, and then said, "Get back in your car and go to the ER at UMC. I think you can get yourself there faster than I can get you there in an ambulance." WHAT!!! So, that's what we did, and that started our 2 day stay at the hospital. The docs were FABULOUS! It was very reassuring to have a doc that we knew...we were actually discussing blogs in the ER with Brad...THANKS BRAD!!! We came home Wednesday at lunch, and now Caden is slowly recovering. He's doing well, but he does not like to be slowed down by anything, so he wears out very quickly. I'm sure he'll be back to himself soon!!
I go back to the doctor tomorrow for another ultrasound. I'm excited to get another glimpse of Grayson. He's moving around like crazy now...It's nice to know he's there and doing well!

Time to catch up on PICS!!!

Well, this post is going to be LOTS of pics!! I have no idea how to upload more than 5 at a time, so excuse the wacky order. We're all doing well. Caden is BUSY BUSY BUSY...I was actually just getting ball point pen ink out of a chair (if you need stain removal advice, I'm the QUEEN!). Grayson is moving around all of time...I LOVE it!!! I have another ultrasound on Friday to check on him again. I'll try to figure out how to scan in the pics, but don't hold your breath because it's MISTLETOE week!!! It will be a quite hectic week for all!!!

A day with doctors...

The Porter children have been keeping the doctors in our area in business today. We started this morning with Grayson's fetal echo. Everything looked pretty good! There was one questionable spot on his heart, but the doctor seemed quite confident that it would resolve itself by birth, so I'm taking her word on that! Well Frank and I were having that done, Caden was at my grandmother's house throwing up. So...this afternoon I took Caden to the doctor, and apparently he has some kind of stomach virus (duh!). We were told to come back if it wasn't better in a couple of days. So...we shall see!!

Random Pics... are some VERY RANDOM pics. I felt bad for not blogging in over a week, so I decided to give you all a little something. I should have some pics coming soon since we have Fall Fest at church tomorrow...that promises some priceless pictures! Caden is going to be a monkey this year for Halloween (although I think he looks more like an Ewok).
Here's Caden at 1 Day old. Hard to imagine that I'll be back in that hospital bed in just a few more months!!!Are we goobers or what!!!! This is the look of 2 people saying, "2 kids under 2...what were we thinking???" BRING IT ON!!!!

It's A....

Grayson Lane was not shy at all today during our ultrasound. He was a little wiggle worm!!! We will have another ultrasound in 4 weeks because he was still a little small for some of the measurements, but everything looked great! He weighed in at a whopping 8 ounces!

Homecoming Parade...

**Side Note...Big Ultrasound is tomorrow!! Pray for a HEALTHY baby!!**
Tonight we went to the NWR Homecoming parade. Frank is escorting my cousin, Anna, who is a senior maid this year. It was great fun...complete with firetrucks, horses, the band, floats, and (only in Rankin County) 4 wheelers! Caden did really well. He probably doesn't remember it, but he was at the parade last year...and the year before in my belly! Frank found a 1965 Mustang convertible to use in the parade and for the game tomorrow night. Let me just tell you, he was in HEAVEN!!!!!
Here's my little man "kicked back" in his stroller...
Ah, the dream car! (Oh, and Anna too!!!)

I think they were all having fun!

Everybody loves a parade!!

At the car wash...

**Be sure to vote in the "guess the gender" poll!!!***
Frank was outside the other day washing my car (I know...I have a FABULOUS husband!!!), and Caden decided that he could help.
I think you missed a spot, Dad.

Hey, this brush is bigger than me!!

Yuck...I think I got soap in my mouth!
