VBS...

We had VBS at church this week. I think that it was a big hit!! Grayson was in the nursery, and Caden was in a 2 year old class...too cute!! They did crafts, and music and everything. The only thing he didn't really understand is when Frank was in the opening and closing programs each day. Frank was supposed to be a surfer dude (and he did quite an excellent job if I must say so!), so he talked with an Australian accent (think the turtle from Finding Nemo). Caden didn't understand why daddy didn't sound like daddy. Here are some fun pics from the week...
For the 80's kids out there...check out Frank's "Jams"I was in charge of story telling. Here is the tent that I used for it. We used our imaginiations each day and made the tent a different destination.

Caden and Daddy playing in the sanctuary before VBS one evening. (Our VBS is a night so that more working parents can be involved...it works really well. We actually have about as many male volunteers as females.)

Consignment toys...

I have no idea why I have ever bought new toys for Caden. He is always far more delighted with Clearance priced items or things that I have bought at consignment sales. For example, I bought this Fisher Price Little People barn at a consignment sale for around $7. It's been in the garage for a couple of months, because I couldn't decide if it was still a little mature for him (a.k.a. lots of pieces!!). Well, he spotted it the other day and took it upon himself to drag the big bag into the kitchen. It's his new favorite!! It's really fun. Every animal has a "spot" in the barn that makes that animal's sound. Caden loves matching the animal to the sound. Then he takes them all out and does it again. Literally HOURS of fun!!
Play time...

Check out all of the stuff that came with it!!

I was rocking Grayson the other night in the recliner, and Caden decided that he needed some Mommy time too. So he climbed right up and snuggled in with us!! I treasure these days that my boys want to snuggle up with Mama...they are already FLYING by!

My first cereal...

Well, little Grayson is sneaking up on the 4 month mark. Although we haven't had the official 4 month doctor's visit, I decided that it was time to "go ahead" with rice cereal. I think one of the main reasons I went ahead with it was that I decided to break out the new high chair that has been in a box in my foyer since January. Well, that, and this kid was HUNGRY!!
**YOU BE THE JUDGE: We debate among family what color G's hair is. What do you think???
Yummy!!!

Here, mom, I'll help!! He thinks that he is very helpful with his hands, but they mainly just get him into trouble (a sign of things to come, I'm sure!).

His helpful hands covered his entire face with cereal!!

We LOVE the new highchair. It also converts to a booster.

Our first trip to the zoo...

We've been talking about going to the zoo for a while now, so last Saturday we went with some friends from our Sunday school class. Here are some of my favorite pictures...

Caden and I on the carousel...After the ride...he was getting pretty sleepy by this point!

Notice our line of strollers...This is Grayson's friend John David...

Oh, the train ride was the hit of the day. It was totally pointless, but Caden did not want to get off!

The train...

I loved this one because of Jim's Mr. GQ pose...

Kaylie's going in to straighten out the boys in the prairie dog holes...

Don't worry, Grayson was there too!

Yes, this is the man I married...

Kaylie and her mama in front of the flamingos...

I truly think this giraffe is stuffed...he was standing too perfectly!

Love this face...

Swim fun...

I know, I know..."You're out of school for summer, you should be blogging more." Well, I'm not, so move on!! Seriously, the boys and I are having so much fun playing that we're just too busy!! But I will try to be a bit more frequent for ya!!!
We recently made a new addition to the back yard. We bit the bullet and put in a pool!!! We have a big back yard with plenty of room for a really nice pool. We couldn't be happier with our new fabulous pool!!! Do you like it???I know, you're jealous....it even has a slide. Caden had a ball in it when we first put it up. I think Daddy like it too!!
He also LOVES the slide!! And before you start saying anything about the dorky "aqua-socks," they are purely functional.
How fun are these two!!!

Fun Day...

Mom and Gale went to Dallas last weekend for a wholesale show, and my cousin Brittany rode back to MS with them. We've had fun playing with Brit this week...she's lots of fun!!! First, we dressed the boys up in matching outfits...(Don't worry, we didn't wear the hats in public)
Love this one of Grayson. That's the look he always gives. I love those big eyes!
We went to ride the carousel at Miskelly's, and Caden loved it!! I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. It's a dollar per rider that is donated to a local charity. After riding, the lady operating the ride gives you a balloon and tells you to be sure to go and get a free beverage in the cafe. Brittany thought it was hysterical that we were going to a furniture store to ride a carousel...I guess it is a bit odd!!

Brit had Caden trying out the headset feature in Mom's van...
